Mattie Marie Bates Neal, 49, passed away July 24, 2017 at her home.

A native of Greenville, daughter of the late Eugene and Mattie Campbell Bates, she was of the Freewill Baptist faith.

Surviving:

Surviving are her husband, Danny Lee Neal of the home; a daughter, Angela Marie Bates of Taylors; step-children, Anthony Lee Neal, Tabitha Jane Peebles, Crystal Michele Sellers and April Dawn Neal; brothers, Furman Bates, Charles Bates, Dan Bates, Mark Bates and Richard Bates; a sister, Martha Leopard; and fourteen grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two grandchildren, Tony Neal and Gabriel Peebles.

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 28, 2017 at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Rev. Jammy Carson.

Burial will follow in Wood Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 27, 2017 at The Wood Mortuary.

The family is at the home.
