Martha McBride Godfrey, 94, wife of the late Marion S. McBride and the late David Reece Godfrey, passed away June 18, 2022.

A native of Greer, daughter of the late Charlie F. and Josie Franklin Davis, she was a retired employee of Greenville County School District and a member of Apalache Baptist Church.

Surviving:

Surviving are one son, Reggie McBride (Debbie) of Taylors; two bonus sons, David Barry Godfrey (Carolyn) of Columbia, S.C.; Mitchell Godfrey (Donna) of Raleigh, N.C.; one brother, Charlie Andrew Davis (Chris) of Greer; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Godfrey was predeceased by one brother, Milton Davis and one sister, Joy Jones.

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Apalache Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Brian Childers and Mr. Charlie McBride.

Burial will follow in Wood Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held 10:30-11:15 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Apalache Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Gary Davis, Roger Jones, Steve Jones, Andy Wactor, Robert Yeargin, and Leland Campbell.

The family will be at the home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Apalache Baptist Church 1915 Gap Creek Road, Greer, SC 29651.
