Renee Charlene Raynes Cunningham, 61, of Greer, went home to be with the Lord on August 7, 2021, peacefully at her home.

A native of Fairfax County, Va., she was the daughter of late Ronnie and Bonnie Wilbanks Raynes of Taylors and a homemaker.

Renee grew up in Northern Virginia but moved quickly to Greer after high school.

She soon met the love of her life, Mitch Cunningham and they were married in 1983 at Faith Temple Church in Taylors. Renee enjoyed church services at Faith Temple, Mount Lebanon Baptist Church and Praise Cathedral.

Although the couple did not have children, their hearts reached out to saving and rescuing cats. Over the years she enjoyed caring for over 20+ cats.

She was also an avid reader, whose book collection was enormous. She was quiet, sweet, thoughtful and generous. Most of all, she loved the Lord.

Surviving:

Surviving in addition to her husband of 38 years; one brother, Richard Raynes (Melanie); one niece, Morghan R. Raynes and one nephew, Roman L. Raynes, all of Taylors.

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at The Wood Mortuary Chapel conducted by Pastor Jerry Madden and Rev. Mark Smith.

Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be held 12:30 ? 1:45 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectively request memorials be made to Paws, Prayers & Promises, 685 Carriage Row, Tryon, N.C., 28782.

The family will be at their respective homes.
