Richard Dale Meyer, "Dick", 85, passed away on October 25, 2020 at his home.
A native of Manteno, IL,, son of the late Venis Richard and Virginia Grace Dale Meyer, he was a retired employee of Atlanta Motor Lines, a US Army Veteran, a member of North Hills Church and he was a third generation house mover.
Surviving are his wife married for 62 years to the day, Shirley Diane Mezo Meyer of the home; one son, Jeff Meyer (Roxy) of Anderson; two daughters, Gail Ann Summerlin (Nathan) of Taylors and Becky Meyer of the home; twelve grandchildren, Christina Carnell (Jon), Richard Summerlin (Nina), Jeremy Summerlin (Stephanie), Luke Summerlin (Calla), Ashleigh Ochoa (Daniel), Zachary Summerlin (Jazmin), Cody Summerlin, Tyler Summerlin, Wesley Summerlin, Jeffery Aaron Meyer, Laynie Lanier (Keith) and Matt Meyer (Brittany) and seventeen great-grandchildren, Grace Carnell, Emma Carnell, Megan Carnell, Molly Carnell, Abe Carnell, Alice Carnell, Pearl Summerlin, Sawyer Summerlin, Nolan Summerlin, Henry Summerlin, Holden Summerlin, Sophia Summerlin (due in December), Anna Ochoa, Jaxon Meyer, Braxton Meyer, Audrey Lanier and Matti Meyer, Taylor Lanier. Every grandchild and great-grandchild meant the world to him. He felt very blessed to have each and every one.
Mr. Meyer was predeceased by two brothers, James Meyer and David Meyer; one grandson, Tyler Summerlin and one great-grandson, Richard Sawyer Summerlin.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at North Hills Church conducted by Dr. Peter Hubbard and Pastor Alan Bunn.
Interment will be private.
