Robert Roy Mixon, 92, passed away May 5, 2024.

A native of Sharon, Tennessee, son of the late O'Dell Mixon and Lula Flo Roy Croyle, he was a United State Navy Veteran, serving in Japan, Korea, Cuba, and on the U.S.S. Lexington.

Following his retirement with the United States Navy, he had a very successful career as Director of Nursing Homes with Americana Healthcare Corporation.

Both Bob and his wife, Betty, are members of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church.

Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth ?Betty? Mixon of the home; four children, Robert Roy Mixon, Jr. (Jeanette) of Lexington, South Carolina, Wesley Lee Mixon (Sharon) of Elkin, North Carolina, Gail Marie Howell (Alan) of Greer, South Carolina, and Gregory Lee Mixon of Landrum, South Carolina; seven grandchildren, Brian Mixon (Lisa), Nicole Kirkman (Benny), Michael Mixon (Megan), Stephanie Mays (Clark), Julie Stanton (Seth), Travis Mixon (Misty), Timothy Mixon (Casey); and twelve great-grandchildren; and one brother, David Mixon of Arizonia.
Mr. Mixon was predeceased by three brothers, John Daniel Mixon, Lloyd Mixon, and Joseph Croyle; and two sisters, Martha Johnson and Wanda Tobin.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at The Wood Mortuary Chapel conducted by Deacon Sam Aguilar and Deacon Gary Walzac.
