Robert S. (Steve) Bradley, Sr., 71, of Lyman, peacefully entered into eternal rest on November 5, 2014 at home after several years of declining health.

Born January 10, 1943 in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Arthur S. Bradley and Louise Towery Bradley.

Mr. Bradley retired from the Spartanburg Herald after 38 years of service. He began work at the Spartanburg Herald as an apprentice printer in 1968. He was supervisor of the composing room and Press Room Manager at the time of his retirement in 2006.

Mr. Bradley was a Veteran who served in the United States Navy and was a member of GraceWay Church. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Surviving:

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Gloria Hart Bradley; a daughter, Regina Abernathy (Joe) of Inman; two sons, Steven Bradley (Melissa) of Boiling Springs and Jeffrey Bradley of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren, Justin Bradley (Faith) of Boiling Springs, Jason Bradley (Amber) of Roebuck, Sgt. Amanda Abernathy, U.S. Army, El Paso, Texas, and Phillip Abernathy (Jennifer) of Guyton, Georgia; great-grandchildren, Madison Abernathy, Hudson Abernathy, Madelyn Bradley and Khloe Abernathy; brother, Ken Bradley (Martha) of Pauline; sister-in-law, Dianne Morton of Boiling Springs; a niece, Beth Bradley; and two nephews, Paul Morton and Kevin Morton.

Funeral Services:

Visitation will be held 2:15-3:45 p.m. Friday, November 7, 2014 at The Wood Mortuary.

Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Friday at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Rev. Jan King. Burial will follow in Wood Memorial Park.
