Sam G. Blankenship, 73, widower of Janice Cantrell Blankenship, died November 12, 2013.
A native of Greenville, son of the late Charles E. and Vernie Bass Blankenship, he was a retired employee of Chemical Leaman Tank Lines, a member of Apalache Baptist Church and member and past master of Tyger Masonic Lodge #190.
Surviving are three daughters, Tammy Owenby (Brent) of Greer, Kimberly Bishop of Anderson and Vernie Blankenship of Travelers Rest; five grandchildren, Monica Lemmons, River Hawkins, Tyler Owenby, Starr Owenby, Samantha Fleming and Hunter Fleming and four great-grandchildren, Rylan Samuel, Lyric Rose, Mia Rose and Ollie Delilah.
Mr. Blankenship was predeceased by one brother, Charles ?Bud? Blankenship, Jr. and two sisters, Marjorie Fair and Faye Blankenship.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Wood Mortuary conducted by Rev. Eddie Cooper. Burial will follow in Clearview Baptist Church cemetery.
Visitation will be held 9:30-10:45 a.m. Saturday at Wood Mortuary.
The family is at the home of daughter, Tammy Owenby.
