Sammie Edward Jackson, Jr., 77, widower of Loretta Ramsey Jackson, passed away September 5, 2016.
A native of Greenville County, son of the late Sammie E. Jackson, Sr. and Alice Clayton Jackson, he was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, a retired employee of Springs Industries, a lifetime member and past master of Duncan Masonic Lodge #309, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and a proud member of the NRA.
Surviving are two daughters, Barbara Battle (Billy) of Boiling Springs and Christina Walker (Adam) of Auburn, Kentucky; two sons, Thomas E. Jackson (Lisa) of Woodruff and Randall Jackson of Cowpens; two brothers, James Earl Jackson of Ontario, Canada and Douglas E. Jackson of Reidville; two sisters, Gaynelle Mayfield of Greer and Jeanette Chapman of Mauldin; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mr. Jackson was predeceased by one son, David M. Jackson and two brothers, Joe L. Jackson and Fred G. Jackson.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 9, 2016 at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Rev. Keith Kelly.
Burial will follow in Fort Prince Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 8, 2016 at The Wood Mortuary.
The families are at their respective homes.
