Sylvia Taylor McKinney, 83, went to her heavenly home on September 16, 2020.

A native of Greenville, daughter of the late Jonah E. and Edith Jones Taylor, she was the organist and pianist for many years at Piedmont Park Baptist Church and Buncombe Road Baptist Church, and a former secretary at Piedmont Park Baptist Church and retired from First Presbyterian Church, Greenville.

Mrs. McKinney was a member at Mountain Creek Baptist Church.

She was a talented musician, avid reader, gifted seamstress and never shied away from learning new things. She loved birds and spent hours watching from her sunroom.

Surviving:

Surviving are her husband, Clyde A. McKinney of the home; one son, Greg McKinney (Ginny) of Central; one daughter, Loretta M. Stephens (Scott) of Greenville; two sisters, Nancy Taylor of Greenville and Sue T. Paris of Greer and two grandchildren, Clay and Brad Stephens.

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 20, 2020 at Mountain Creek Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Bert Watts.

Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

The body will lie in state on Saturday, September 19, 2020 from 1:00-7:00 p.m. at The Wood Mortuary.

The family is at the home.
