V. David Bassett, 81, passed away October 12, 2018.

A native of Jackson, Mississippi, a son of the late V.L. and Anne Mae Lowe Bassett, he was a retired self-employed electrician, a former Music Director and was a member of Northwood Baptist Church.

Surviving:

Surviving are his wife, Barbara Wood Bassett of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Chuck and Lisa Hicks of Beggs, Oklahoma and Mark and Vickie Hicks of Greer; four daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie Bassett of Greenville, Bonny and Austin Cartwright of Greer, Tammy and Jimmy Looper of Easley, and Joy and Joey Gosnell of Fair Play, SC; one brother, Jerry Bassett of Murphy, NC; fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Northwood Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Eric Wooten and Rev. Roger Greene.

Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be held 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the church prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Powell, Grant Looper, Austin Cartwright, Nick Polson, Tillmon Sisic, Nick Cartwright and Stephen Aiken.

Honorary escort will be the Ready Sunday School Class of Northwood Baptist Church.

The family is at the home of the daughter, Bonny Cartwright, 585 Flynn Rd., Greer, SC.
