William Douglas "Doug" Smith, widower of Clemie Gosnell Smith, passed away February 7, 2021.

A native of Greenville County, son of the late William Clyde and Jessie Mae Robertson Smith and he was retired from SCDOT.

Surviving:

Surviving are one daughter, Tracy Smith Phillips (Wendell) of Taylors; two sons, Marion "Doug" Smith of Taylors; David Smith (Tara) of Greer; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; one brother, and two sisters.

Mr. Smith was predeceased by one son Chris Gosnell.

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be held 2 PM Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at The Wood Mortuary conducted by Rev. Allen Gosnell.

Burial will follow at God's House of Prayer Church Cemetery.

The body will lie in state Tuesday, February 9, 2021 from 2 PM- 7 PM.

The family will be at their respective homes.

Memorials may be made to Halcyon Hospice 300 E. Henry Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302 or The Greenville Humane Society 305 Airport Road, Greenville, SC 29607.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. John Milas, Melissa Twiggs and Tiffany Black for their loving care and compassion.
