William Rudolph Lynn, 95, widower of Dorothy Mable Few Lynn, died on April 6, 2018 at his home in the presence of loved ones.

A native of Greenville County, he was a son of the late William Frank Lynn and Emma Sue Trammell Lynn, a retired employee of Carolina Sue, a member of Fews Chapel United Methodist Church and was a US Army Veteran of World War II.

While serving his country in World War II he received the French Unit Citation, the Croix DE Guerre, Europe-Africa-Middle East Theater Campaign Medal with four Bronze Service Stars, the American Defense Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.

One of his favorite pastimes was to share war stories with his family. He had profound memory and truly enjoyed sharing his experiences as a soldier.

Surviving:

Surviving are two daughters, Lura Lynn and Debbie Mewborn both of Travelers Rest; two sisters, Mary Newhart of Taylors and Priscilla Ann Feher both of Taylors; five grandchildren, Angie Carlton, Robin Hug, Rusty Joines, Bo Bruce and Dolph Bruce; ten great-grandchildren, Lauren Nichols, Shea Carlton, Chase Joines, Preston Bruce, Zachary Bruce, Megan Bruce, Logan Moran, Arthur Bruce, Pelham Bruce and Gavin Hug and five great-great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Nichols, Annie Nichols, Abel Nichols, Jax Carlton and Cruz Carlton.

He was also predeceased by one sister, Sybil Lister.

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Fews Chapel United Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Richard McAlister.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bo Bruce, Dolph Bruce, Rusty Joines, Randy Hug and Roger Carlton.

Honorary escort will be his great-grandchildren, Lauren Nichols, Megan Bruce, Logan Moran, Chase Joines, Shea Carlton, Arthur Bruce, Pelham Bruce, Gavin Hug, Preston Bruce, and Zachary Bruce.

Visitation will be held 2:30 until 3:45 p.m. Wednesday at the church prior to the service.

The family is at their respective homes.
