William Coolidge Sloan, 87, of 820 Mountain View Court, died February 3, 2013 at Greer Memorial Hospital.

A native of Greenville County, he was a son of the late William P. and Cora Lee Campbell Sloan, former owner of Greer Gas Company, a member of Fairview Baptist Church, and a US Army and National Guard veteran.

Surviving:

Surviving are his wife, Christine Smith Sloan of the home; a son, Billy Sloan of Blythewood, SC; a daughter, Diane Vaughn (Jerry) of Mount Pleasant, SC; a brother, Paul Sloan of Greer; five grandchildren, Amy Whittle, Genevieve Alert, Joshua Sloan, Aubrey Sloan, and Julian Sloan and three great-grandchildren, Evan Whittle, Chase Whittle, and Beckett Alert.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Edna Mae Fowler Sloan, five brothers and six sisters.

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Rev. Mark Smith. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be held 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary prior to the service.

The family is at the home.
