Renner, BJU grad, is second in national music contest

Timothy Renner, a 2012 Bob Jones University graduate, received second place and $2,500 in the young artist division (ages 25-30) of The ORPHEOUS National Music Competition for Young Artists.

The competition, sponsored by the Middle Tennessee Choral Society, was held on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tenn.

The Woodbridge, Va. resident received his BS in Music Education in 2010 and his MMus in Church Music in 2012 from Bob Jones University.  He is pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Voice Performance and Literature at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
