The plating was as much part of Rivera's lure as the food, as this ribeye.
The sign on the door sadly said it all.
“With sad hearts, but never ending memories, we are closing Rivera’s for the final meal next Wednesday night. Thank you for 10 years if your love, support and friendship.”
Bruce and Lucinda were in meetings before Friday’s opening and had little time to chat. “It’s bittersweet for us,” Lucinda said.
Bruce brought his Cuban-style, southern Miami flare to downtown Greer in 2008 and was one of the key stakeholders during the rebirth of the central business district.
Rivera’s brought the whimsical Christmas Festivus, made popular in American culture by the Jerry Seinfeld Show, New Year’s Eve, Valentine’s Day and hosted many corporate business investors shopping to put their roots into Greer.
There was no mention of re-opening at another location.
