SIMPSONVILLE -- Hillcrest pulled away in the second half en route to a 34-21 victory over visiting Riverside Friday night.
The Warriors (1-3) took a 7-0 lead, driving 80 yards after the opening kickoff. Greg Pollastrini capped the drive with a 1-yard plunge for the first of his two scores.
"We saw some positive things. We were competitive," said Riverside head coach Steve Eoute. "Our first two drives were what coaches dream of. Our offensive line really started to come around and played well."
Lamorris Stoddard added a short touchdown run, and Pollastrini's second touchdown came on a pass from quarterback T.J. Gurn. ?The Warriors begin their Region II-4A schedule next Friday night when they host Spartanburg.
