Riverside students sponsor Angel Tree children

Published on Monday, December 17, 2012

Riverside High School's Representative Committee is sponsoring 11 children from the Salvation Army's angel tree program.

Students took the wish list from 11 children and divided it among their Home Room classes.

Each class raised money and purchased the gifts. The students became involved in the Christmas spirit and the act of giving.  They went above and beyond what they were assigned to give and as a result, these 11 children will have a special Christmas.

Each child will be given at least one outfit, a pair of shoes, a coat and all of the toy items they wished for and more.

Tuesday at noon, students will begin bringing the purchased gifts to the Riverside High School Angel Tree in the entrance hallway. Items include bikes, Nintendos, Ipods, baby dolls, games and sports equipment.
