Riverside Middle School was selected as the top "Healthy School" middle school in Greenville County.
Cindy Heos and the rest of the Healthy Schools Committee were recognized for planning activities focusing on healthy choices and for clubs and organizations that encourage students to stay active and healthy.
Riverside Middle wins $500 grant for library
Gaelyn Jenkins, Riverside Middle School Media Specialist, and Ken Morrill, Riverside Middle School teacher, and the LevelUP team won a $500 grant from the Greenville County Media Specialists Association to purchase Little Bits Kits for use in the library’s Maker Space next year.
This will allow the students to build different machines and devices to create innovative projects.
McClatchey wins Soil and Water Conversation photography contest
Eighth-grader Madi McClatchey won the grand prize in the Greenville County Soil and Water Conservation photography contest.
Seventh-grader Ryan Chapman and sixth-graders Olivia Corvin and Anna Hickey also had winning essays in the writing contest.
All four students and their teachers, Grace Johnson, Richane Robbins and Cindy Woody, were honored at a Hawaiian themed dinner.
RMS hosts SCMEA Solo Ensemble Festival
Riverside Middle School recently hosted hundreds of music students from all over the county for the South Carolina Music Educators Association Solo Ensemble Festival.
Students end year learning about health and wellness
Sixth-grade students celebrated the end of the year by spending the morning learning about different aspects of health and wellness and field day activities in the afternoon.
Drama students star in 'Mocking Games'
Riverside Middle drama students starred in their original production of "Mocking Games."
The production was the culminating performance after a semester of learning the art of drama.
