Michael Roth, former University of South Carolina pitcher, says he was a target of "Catfishing".

Former Riverside High School and University of South Carolina pitcher Michael Roth says he can relate to be a victim of  “Catfish”.

Manti Te’o of Notre Dame is embroiled in a controversy in which he says he had a relationship with a woman, and said later she never existed.

The 2010 documentary “Catfishing” is about a man who is deceived by a woman who says she is in love with him. It turned out not to be true.

Roth wrote a blog detailing his “Catfishing” experience, describing the text messages, phone calls and how he found out about the woman who also reeled in other people with her story.

The woman made contact with Roth in 2010 and continued communicating until Roth uncovered the truth in 2011.

Roth’s detailed blog is at here.
