Nick Stegall, left, Greer CPW General Manager, announced his retirement today at the board of commissioners meeting. In this photo Stegall congratulates a customer who won a drawing in a CPW promotion earlier this year.
Stegall has been the GM at CPW for 4 ½-years. He announced his decision at the monthly Board of Commissioners meeting with the effective date Sept. 30.
“I want to thank the community and commissioners for the support we have received. Greer has been very nice to us and I think we have accomplished a lot of goals we set,” Stegall said.
“I’m going to retire and do some projects at home,” Stegall told GreerToday.com.
CPW Commissioner Eugene Gibson said, “It’s with some reluctance we accept Nick’s resignation.”
Gibson, before entering executive session, said there is no timetable to begin a search for Stegall’s replacement. “We will be discussing that.”
Stegall told CPW managers this morning of his decision and sent an email to all employees after the board meeting notifying them of his retirement.
Stegall’s retirement comes at the end of CPW’s Centennial celebration. CPW just celebrated its first Centennial 5K run Saturday as part of the Sooie’t Relief BBQ Benefit in concert with Greer Relief.
Stegall is active in the Greer community as board member of the Greer Development Corporation, the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce, Village Hospital Advisory Board, and the Partnership for Tomorrow Board of Trustees and a member of state and national professional associations.
