Tapp worked at Ponder's in downtown as a teen in mid-1930s

Edith Miller Tapp was a teen-ager attending high school in the mid-1930s when she worked at Ponder's downtown ice cream parlor.

 

Edith Miller Tapp worked at Ponder’s Ice Cream Parlor when it was located in downtown Greer. Tapp was attending high school in the mid-1930’s and worked part-time.

Tapp died Thursday at Hospice of the Foothills in Landrum. She was the second oldest living member at Washington Baptist Church.

She graduated high school and worked for 36 years at Southern Bell Telephone Company until her retirement.

At the time of her death she was the second oldest living member of Washington Baptist Church.
