Dr. H. Paul Thompson Jr., dean of College of Humanities and professor and chair of the Department of History at North Greenville University, will participate in the Greenville Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Greenville.
“I am continuously seeking ways to refine my leadership skills. I know several (Leadership Greenville) graduates who speak very highly of the program,” Thompson said.
Thompson is the first NGU employee to participate in this long-standing leadership program in the Greenville community.
“I think it is a sign of how things are changing at NGU. No longer will our light be ‘so far out on a mountain top’ that no one can see it,” Thompson said.
Thompson said that one of the benefits of the program is the local networking. He hopes to meet people and make connections that he can leverage to the benefit of NGU students in terms of internships and employment.
“There may be organizations with which we can creatively partner to mutually advance our respective institutional missions. All of these things will generally boost the image of NGU in the Greenville community, and benefit the entire university community,” Thompson said.
