Jimmy Tobias has filed to run for the 4th Congressional District seat to oppose incumbent Trey Gowdy.
Businessman Jimmy Tobias, 57, has officially filed to run for South Carolina’s Fourth Congressional District seat currently held by Trey Gowdy. Running as a Democrat, Tobias cites frustration with proposed changes in Social Security and Medicare, which Gowdy supports, as one of the main reasons for his run for office."I do not believe it’s right to take away the security that people have worked for all their lives. I am running to stand up for the working man and their children. There are too many radical Republicans trying to take away the benefits we’ve worked so hard for because of the greed of others,” Tobias said.Additional elements of Tobias’ platform include support of the Affordable Health Care Act, reducing national debt, and the legalization of marijuana.“Trey has been very quiet since he was elected to the 4th District. We don’t need someone who is quiet and following others, we need a leader. I am that leader,” said Tobias.Visit jimmytobias.com for more information.
