Jaws dropped as a check for $306,379.48 was presented on behalf of the Wade Hampton High School students at halftime of Friday night’s football game.
The money was raised during Spirit Week for the school’s signature charity this year, Clement’s Kindness Fund for the Children, a non-profit that helps children with cancer and blood disorders.
The students choose Clement’s Kindness with a lofty goal of $250,000.
Clement’s Kindness was founded in 2002 and has helped children and their families with mental, emotional and financial support.
Greenwood won the football game, 27-0.
