Unique necklaces to be sold at craft fair

Published on Saturday, November 22, 2014

A craft fair at Clearview Baptist Church will feature some unique jewelry made by natives from Côte D'ivoire, West Africa – Papier Pearls.

The fair is 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. in Travelers Rest.

Catherine Norton and Auria Garland came upon beaded necklaces made from rolled up paper during previous mission trips. They brought a quantity from Côte D'ivoire, West Africa last summer and will make them available for purchase Saturday.

The necklaces are made from magazines cut into strips then rolled up and dipped in a stain to make them hard.
