USC Upstate creates urban studies degree in Greenville

Published on Tuesday, February 9, 2016

The University of South Carolina Upstate will create an undergraduate urban studies degree in Greenville that will serve, in part, as a feeder for Clemson University's master's program.

USC Upstate announced details of its expansion into Greenville on Monday.

USC Upstate Chancellor Tom Moore said the school is leasing more than 5,000 square feet in an office building that should be ready by August.

The new location will not take any resources from the current degree program at a center southeast of the downtown area at the old McAlister Square shopping mall.

Moore said the school is also setting up an addition in downtown Spartanburg.
