The students in Washington Center’s Adapted Physical Education class are practicing a new activity -  adapted yoga.

The goal of yoga is to calm the nervous system and relax the body.  Yoga is said to help children breathe better, improve attention span, strengthen the body, improve balance and can be a great physical activity.

Yoga focuses on slow, controlled movements with the aim of stretching and relaxing muscles.  Music is played to help the students relax while participating in the adapted yoga activities.
