Zibert honored as Greenville County Teacher of the Year

Anne Kelsey-Zibert was honored as the Greenville County Teacher of the Year Tuesday at the Rotary Club of Greenville. The club helps provide the financial award.

The teachers of the year were announced in August.

Zibert is a seventh grade social studies teacher at Northwest Middle School in Travelers Rest. A Missouri native, she is a graduate of Princeton University and earned her Master’s at Clemson University. Zibert has been teaching nine years.

“The more I understood what it meant to be a teacher and help students grow as individuals, the more I knew I wanted to dedicate my life to teaching,” Zibert said. She will compete for the state teacher of the year.

Adam Massey, a business education teacher at Greer High School, was first runnerup, Tom Rogers, a physics, statistics, and computer science teacher at Southside High Academy was second runnerup and Mandy Waters, a first grade teacher at Westcliffe Elementary School was third runnerup.
