Three beauty queens from Greer have advanced to the Miss South Carolina USA pageant to be held in Charleston in November.
Morgan Brown, Anna Brown and Sydney Sill won titles at the Miss Mountain Lakes and Miss Golden Corner USA pageant, respectively, Saturday in Walhalla.
Future chiropractor and Sherman College of Chiropractic student Jennifer Jones has been crowned Ms. United States. Jones, who represented the state of North Carolina in the national pageant, won the title July 7 in Washington, D.C.
Jones, 28, is a third-year student at Sherman College and expects to graduate in September 2014. She completed her bachelor’s degree at Limestone College in South Carolina and is now completing her clinical internship at Sherman. She is the daughter of Troy and Karan Jones, of Cleveland County, NC, and has a younger brother, J.T.
Miss Greater Greer Lanie Hudson won the swimsuit competition Wednesday night at the Miss South Carolina competition at Columbia’s Township Auditorium.
Lara Scott, Miss Capital City, won the talent portion with a dance routine and Miss Greenville County Lindley Mayer had an impressive dance routine.
Lindley Mayer, a former Riverside Middle School student, won the swimsuit competition at the Miss South Carolina Pageant in Columbia Tuesday night.
Mayer, competing as Miss Greenville County, was Miss South Carolina Teen in 2005 and is an accomplished TV and film actress in Los Angeles. She will appear in the soon-to-be-released “Hunger Games 2: Catching Fire”. She has appeared on “Glee” and on “The Walking Dead”.

The hopes of greater Greer in the 2013 Miss South Carolina Pageant rests on five queens representing different communities in the upstate.
The girls reported to Columbia Friday, will have social activities Saturday and Sunday. They begin their first day in competition Monday when all meet with judges for the all important interviews.

The Greer High School junior isn’t traveling light. “I’m bring four suitcases with me – one for shoes, another for daily outfits, and one for dresses,” Ross said. Everything else must fit in the remaining suitcase.
