Glenn Reese has resigned as Blue Ridge High School boys basketball coach after two seasons.
Reese, in a statement, cited living 20 miles from the school and wanting to spend more time with his three children as they begin playing sports and participating in activities.
The Blue Ridge Junior Classical League placed third Saturday at the SCJCL 2013 Spring Forum. The group won 30 awards in the areas of written tests, art and handicrafts, and olympika.
Titus Snyder placed first in both of the Roman history written tests. Brittany Hill won a number of art awards, including one in impromptu art.

Blue Ridge High School’s Future Farmers of America (FFA) presents the 17th Annual Farm Day at the Lindsey Plantation on April 20 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. The free event showcases the best of the Blue Ridge area.
The event is managed by Blue Ridge students and volunteers who oversee hay rides, animal exhibits and a plant sale.
Nationally touring independent artist, Kim Edwards will make a stop on Tuesday March 26 at 7 p.m., on her east coast tour to benefit Blue Ridge High School’s Theatre at the Ridge. Admission is $5.

Four Theater at the Ridge students, Sarah Nathanson, Zach Arms, Courtney LeHew, and Mary Anna Case, recently joined Blue Ridge Chemistry teacher Joel Perkin, an accomplished community thespian, at the Warehouse Theatre.
Students helped with their strike, removing the set from the show that just finished and getting the theater ready for the next show.
