Blue Ridge, Greer and Pickens have made Region II-3A a three-team race at the mid-point of the high school football season.
If the next two weeks of conference play find the trio atop the standings, the final three weeks will feature a round-robin schedule that will determine the Region championship.
Amber Howard is the Blue Ridge High School “Tiger of the Month” for September. The faculty nominates one student based on personal conduct, work ethic, demonstrated academic achievement or improvement and citizenship.
Blue Ridge Middle received a $500 award for safety for Greenville County Schools. The school was the top middle school in the district.
The criteria for the award was based on safe practices within the school by all staff and students.
It didn’t take the Blue Ridge 7th and 8th grade fall baseball tournament team to gel and introduce themselves to some stout competition.
Three weeks after building its team, the Tigers won their first tournament in dramatic fashion – winning in extra innings on a run scoring game winning hit by Conner Hartwig.
