The Greer Police Department has issued a warning that spectators with masks or Halloween-type bags will be prohibited to Dooley Field for Friday night’s 7:30 game pitting rivals Blue Ridge and Greer.
“It’s already a big rivalry and Halloween makes it all the more challenging,” said Sgt. Chad Richardson. “We will be watching closely as fans enter and during the game for violations.”
Coaches and the selection committee for the North-South all-star game gave a double thumbs down to Greer area football players.

Five suspended Blue Ridge High School athletes turned themselves in to the Greenville County Law Enforcement Center Friday to face assault charges.
They were charged with assault and battery by a mob for an incident on Tuesday at the high school.
The Blue Ridge Corps of Cadets and Greer G Force marching bands will compete Saturday in the state championship Class 3A competition at Batesburg-Leesville High School.
Blue Ridge won the Upper State championship last week and Greer finished fifth.
Five Blue Ridge High School varsity football players have been suspended for a "ganging incident", the Greenville County School District confirmed to media Wednesday.
The suspensions are pending a recommendation for expulsion, according to a statement by Greenville Superintendent Burke Royster.
Greer plays Chapman Friday night and will try to continue its unbeaten streak with an 8th straight victory. The game is at Dooley Field and begins at 7:30 p.m.
Emerald beat Chapman, 55-22, last week for the Panthers only region defeat. Greer beat Emerald 28-13 in Week 4.
Greer's volleyball team wrapped up second place in Region II-3A Wednesday with a victory at Blue Ridge High School.
