BMW X4 revealed at Los Angeles Auto Show

This photo of the all-new X4 was captured at the Los Angeles Auto Show. It's the first time the BMW's newest member of the X family was shown outside of its concept introduced at the Shanghai Auto Show earlier this year.

The BMW X4, scheduled to be in production in 2014 at the BMW Manufacturing Co., in Greer, has been officially revealed at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

The X4 concept was revealed earlier this year at the Shanghai Auto Show. This is the first world appearance of the all-new X4. The car is priced around $40,000, according to reports from Los Angeles and sales are said to begin in mid-2014.

BMW Greer plant hiring for production, logistics positions

The new generation X5, produced at BMW Manufacturing plant in Greer, has hit the showrooms. The new X4 is scheduled for launch in 2014.

BMW Manufacturing announced today that it is actively hiring production and logistics positions at the Greer plant.

The company is in the midst of a 2-year, $900 million expansion, adding the new BMW X4 and completing construction of an additional1.6 million square feet of production and logistics space.

Erlacher named president of Greer's BMW Manufacturing plant

Manfred Erlacher has been named president of BMW Manufacturing Co. in Greer. Erlacher, a 29-year BMW associate, succeeds Josef Kerscher who has returned to Germany to run the plant in Dingolfing.

“I feel very fortunate to have been selected to lead this plant. Spartanburg is a significant contributor to BMW’s global production network and I am excited about the opportunity to direct future growth and expansion in South Carolina’s automotive manufacturing industry,” said Erlacher.
