The Greer Christmas Parade was held in picture perfect weather with almost 100 entries entertaining thousands of viewers lining the 1.1-mile route Sunday afternoon.
There was plenty of candy handed out to children and there no reports of silly string sprayed on parade visitors or aimed from vehicles. An ordinance was passed several years ago when City Council received one complaint.
The Greer Christmas Parade is 2:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the Clock Restaurant on Poinsett Street.
The Blue Ridge and Greer high school bands, Gee and Santa Claus will be among favorite attractions. Santa Claus will be end the parade.
The children were in their Christmas finery Saturday during Breakfast with Santa at the Cannon Centre.
Call the “hardest ticket to get” in Greer, it was a guaranteed sellout 45 minutes before tickets went on sale last month.
The Christmas holiday season is celebrated in Greer with an evening of festivities, the tree lighting and arrival of Santa Claus at Greer City Park.
Weather made to order, clear skies and mild temperatures (60-55 degrees), will greet thousands of visitors to the 5-7:30 p.m. ceremonies.
