Thirteen automated external defibrillators (AED) have been purchased by Greer City Parks and Recreation aimed at dramatically closing the gap between life and death in cardiac arrest events.
The AEDs are mounted inside security cabinets in city facilities and all are compatible with EMS units in Greenville and Spartanburg counties. Once emergency personnel arrive, they can continue using the AED unit or plug the paddles into their unit.
Rock and Roll Reunion will perform Tunes in the Park Friday night from 7-10 p.m. at the City Park amphitheater. The free performance is a makeup from one postponed because of rain during the summer Tunes in the Park series.
A Greer Idol Reunion will be held from 8-9 p.m. Rock and Roll Reunion will perform for one hour at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.
The Pitt Hopkins Charity Music Festival is scheduled Saturday, 6:30 - 8 p.m., at the City Park amphitheater as a fundraiser for Eastside High School Spirit Week.
Eastside HS has raised more than $1.25 million since it began Spirit Week in 1981.
