Gabrielle Fanelli is graduating from North Greenville University in December and became a published author in April, two life-changing events for the Greer resident in one year.
Fanelli, 20, submitted her manuscript to Westbow Press, a division of Thomas Nelson and Zondervan. "A Girl’s Guide to College: Life, Guys, and Career" was published and released July 18. The University of South Carolina Upstate Department of Public Safety has been awarded national accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) in the Law Enforcement program.

Justin Ludley kicked off his tenure as Principal of Greer High School as he met with the faculty and staff of Greer High School during the first day of back to schoolwork days. Ludley, a former teacher and coach at Greer High School, was an assistant principal at Southside High School the past four years.
The Boy Scouts of America is enrolling new Cub Scouts Aug. 18 at a Greenville County School. The Foothills District includes Greer and northern Greenville County.
Cub Scouts is a year-round program for boys in first through fifth grade and their families. It offers fun and challenging activities that promote character development and physical fitness.
Blake Keasler was presented as an Eagle Scout on Aug. 1 at Memorial United Methodist Church.
He is the son of Colton and Marinell Keasler of Taylors. Blake is a member of Troop 107, chartered by Memorial UMC of the Blue Ridge Council. His scoutmaster is Mark Green.
