About 300 undergraduates and graduates receive diplomas Saturday at North Greenville University's spring commencement ceremony on a picture perfect morning in Melvin and Dollie Younts Stadium. More than 4,000 spectators attended and heard WCM Global Wealth, LLC, Principal and Managing Member Erik C. Weir give the keynote address.
“I’m going to tell you a few stories and things I’ve learned in my life, and hopefully it will be a blessing to you,” Weir said.
Greer Middle College Charter High School has named its athletic director and boys head basketball coach for the 2018-2019 school year.
Kelley Bailey will be the athletic director and Jamar Armstrong, the new boys varsity coach.
District Five Schools have appointed two to administrative positions and named a new principal for one of its elementary schools. The District Board of Trustees approved all three moves.
• Phillip Dean is the new Principal of Reidville Elementary School, effective July 1. Current Principal, Kim Deering, will retire at the end of the 2017-18 school year. Reidville opens a new campus in 2019-2020.
Martin L. O’Gwynn, vice president for community and corporate engagement at Oklahoma City University, has been named North Greenville University’s new vice president for advancement.
O’Gwynn, who begins his role May 1, brings more than 30 years of experience in the field.
