Tuesday is deadline to for entries in Christmas Parade

The entry deadline for “The Magic of Christmas” Greer parade is Tuesday. The Greer Jaycees annual parade is Sunday at 3 p.m. Lineup for the parade at the Clock Restaurant at Poinsett Street begins at 2 p.m.
The Greer and Blue Ridge High School marching bands, beauty queens, organizations and businesses will participate in the parade. Santa Claus will make an appearance.
Gala scheduled to help support McKown Center, Arts Council

A Starry Night Gala is scheduled for Saturday Feb. 11 at Greer City Hall. The dinner, dance and auction will be a fundraiser for the Horace McKown Center and the Greer Cultural Arts Council.
Purchasing a ticket for $65 before Jan. 11 entitles the buyer to a free ticket to Hairspray plus an early bird ticket prize drawing worth $300. Tickets will be $75 after Feb. 1.

'Odd Bulb' contest earns winner a restaurant gift card

Visitors to downtown Greer have an opportunity to win a free gift card to Wild Ace, Café Rivera or The Cazbah – just by looking at the Christmas lights.
The “Odd Bulb Out Holiday Hunt,” is a contest that rewards a person finding three red bulbs among thousands of white lights.
Gas House Mouse, Dead Man's Hand at Rhythm & Brews

Gas House Mouse and Dead Man's Hand will be at Rhythm & Brews tonight and Saturday, respectively.Sweet Crude will play Friday, Dec. 16 and The Piedmont Boys on Saturday, Dec. 17. An Ugly Christmas Sweater Party will be held Friday, Dec. 23. Music trivia is scheduled every Thursday.
Hours on Friday and Saturday are 4 p.m. - 2 a.m. The nightclub, at 213 Trade Street, will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas.
Greer Christmas celebration features lights, music, travel

Greater Greer is throwing a holiday party that begins tonight with the Christmas tree lighting and Santa’s visit at City Park and lasts through the New Year.
The City of Greer Christmas weekend begins at 6 p.m. with guests roasting marshmallows over fire pits. The Foothills Philharmonic Orchestra will perform and the reading of “The Night Before Christmas” is scheduled at the amphitheater.
