5 'Make Greer Great' grants awarded by PFT

Five recipients have been awarded “Make Greer Great” reimbursement grants funded by Partnership for Tomorrow.

The program awards $1,500 each to execute an idea or project.

The winners, announced at the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce First Friday luncheon are:

• Depot Street and Randall Street Landscape Beautification Project, Bruce Viehman, City of Greer Recreation Department,

• Trade Street Park Bench, Vaughn Bragg, Pour Sports Pub,

• Downtown Bike Racks, Scott Stevens, Greer Station Association,

• Little Free Library - Read Greer, Greenville First Steps Program.

• School Beautification Project, Greer Middle Charter High School.

“Partnership for Tomorrow is focused on not only planning for the future, but developing our community today,” stated William Marcus, Make Greer Great chairman. “We are proud to award these grants that will directly impact the Greer community in tangible ways.”

Grantees were selected based on their project’s overall impact on the community, and ability to be completed by July 2016. The Partnership received more than 15 applications for the grant.
