Allen Bennett was broken into, two meth labs were dismantled, and the Greer Police Department reported 14 drug and 13 alcohol related arrests in June. The June police report was made available as part of City Council’s meeting Tuesday night.

Lt. Eric Pressley of the Criminal Investigations Division, obtained warrants for two individuals in connection with the Allen Bennett burglary. The suspects were caught on video after police set up a surveillance camera at Allen Bennett. There was no report the suspects were arrested and charged.

• Two meth labs were reported dismantled in June. Some ingredients were confiscated and the lab sites were cleaned up.

• Lt. Chris Varner of the Patrol Division reported citations for traffic and criminal offenses increased 93 percent – 4,539 year to date compared to 2,348 during the same period in 2013.

• The Greer Police Department received a $78,000 National Grant and added equipment and software to its inventory. The department added 20 scanners, 20 printers and 3 more computers from the South Carolina Department of Public Safety.

The total equipment received from the fund to date are 23 computers, 30 scanners, 30 printer mounts and 30 printers from the SCDPS. Digital Collision Software was also received to equip all patrol vehicles.
