Area beauty queens representing the greater Greer area are making appearances, fundraising for their charity of choice and the Miss South Carolina organization's Children's Miracle Network. They are also preparing for the Miss South Carolina and Miss South Carolina Teen pageant scheduled in Columbia in June.
Caitlin Drummond was crowned Miss Blue Ridge Foothills. During the pageant, she captured the swimsuit award and the talent award. Drummond is a junior at Mars Hill College in Mars Hill, N.C. She is an education major.
Drummond, a native of Travelers Rest, is a member of the Bailey Mountain Cloggers and a member of the Delta Zeta sorority.
Drummond is promoting her platform in her community and in the Mars Hill area. She is also promoting the national platform of Children's Miracle Network.
Caroline Chandler was crowned as the new Miss Blue Ridge Foothills Teen. She is a junior at Woodruff High School. She won the evening gown award.
Chandler was also crowned Miss Woodruff High School.
Alexis Harder is Miss Travelers Rest. She captured the swimsuit and talent award. Harder is a graduate of Grace Academy. Harder, a Tega Cay native, is a sophomore Musical Theater Major attending Anderson University.
Tory Abercrombie is Miss Travelers Rest Teen. She won the talent award. Abercrombie is a sophomore honor student at Greer High School and a competitive dancer at Ignite Dance Company.
Julie de Groot is Miss Wade Hampton Taylors Teen. She won the evening gown award at the pageant. A junior honor roll student at Greenville High School, de Groot models in Charlotte and at stores in the Upstate.
Since their coronation, the beauty queens have participated in such events as the IHOP Pancake Day, Dairy Queen Free Ice Cream Day and the Miss South Carolina Work shop Weekend.
They are raising money for their selected charities and Children's Miracle Network, the Miss South Carolina charity, by participating in fundraisers at restaurants and by working concessions at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena.
