The Blue Ridge Middle School Team beat six other schools to win first place in the academic competition, Battle of the Brains 2012.
The score for the final game was 75 for Blue Ridge and 67 for Sterling Gifted School. BlueRidge will go on to the National Academic Competition in June.
The Blue Ridge Academic Competition Team was in the Final Four of the Battle of the Brains last year and in thetop ten of the National Academic Competition In Washington, D.C.
Ms. Johnson, Mr. Batman and Ms. Strickland are the team's advisers.
Team members include William Corbin, Campbell Davenport, Michael Matthews, Elliott Corbin, Adam Barnett, Emily Rogers, Amy Barnett, Calleigh Terry, Jake Holland and Hayden Lines. Becky Green is the principal of BRMS.
