MAU for BMW has set a hiring blitz for next week with the goal to interview 1,000 job candidates.
The hiring blitz is for immediate openings, according to MAU. The employees hired are on MAU's payroll. In comparison, Michelin North America has its employees on the company's payroll.
The hiring of associates and forklift operators fall in line with BMW’s announcement in March 2014 of a $1 billion expansion to create 800 new jobs – bringing the total to 8,800.
The boost in employment only includes contract workers and vendor employees. It does not include hiring by BMW’s 40 suppliers in South Carolina.
That will result in the Greer plant boosting its production 50 percent to manufacture 450,000 vehicles annually by the end of 2016.
Grading has begun off of Brockman McClimon Road for a new 675,000 square foot paint shop, BMW's third.
Beginning Monday MAU launches the hiring event with an instant interview opportunity for people applying online at www.mau.com/bmwjobs.
SC Works – McAlister Square, 225 S. Pleasantburg Drive, Suite E-1 will be open 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. It will be the only location conducting interviews Monday.
The MAU Greenville branch at 7993 Pelham Road will be open for extended hours, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and will also conduct interviews.
