The proceeds benefit Gibbs Cancer Center & Research Institute. The funds will be used by the Bearden-Josey Center for Breast Health’s Mammography assistance program, which allows women, who otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford screenings, to receive mammograms.
“The dollars raised will help women in our community get the mammogram they need that could potentially save their life,” Chantel S. Washington, Community Outreach Coordinator for Gibbs Cancer Center said.
“The funds will also benefit the Cancer Special Needs Fund, which helps to assist patients that are in current treatment with transportation, medication and living expenses that have been identified as a barrier to care,” Washington said.
