The evening featured the passing of the gavel of 2013 Chairman of the Board Bill Roughton (Park Sterling Bank) to the 2014 Chairman Ken Harper (Countybank).
Allen Smith, Greer Chamber President and CEO acknowledged a year milestones:
• a record 709 memberships
• $740.3 million gross retail sales for fiscal year 2013
• $200,000 partnership with Michelin Development Fund to provide loans to businesses within the city or locating in Greer.
The Chamber’s 2013 awards:
• Sud Paget Volunteer of the Year: Mark King, King and Associates and Daniel Hughes, general attorney at Duggan and Hughes, LLC.
• Duke Energy Citizenship and Service Award: Mayor Rick Danner (Greer State Bank).
• The Senator J. Verne Smith Award: Tommy Stringer (House District 18).
• Chairman’s Award for Excellence: Donna O. Smith (Prudential C. Dan Joyner).
• Ryan Storrie Entrepreneurship Award: Lisa Garland (Stomping Grounds).

• Small Business of the Year: Owens Insurance, Inc.
• Outstanding Leadership Award, Jean Greer, Greenville Technical College
• Educator of the Year, Carlton Greene, Greer High School
• Mayor’s Award: B.A. Bennett & Co., and McLeskey-Todd Pharmacy of Greer.
