The spring Greer Police Department Citizen’s Police Academy is scheduled on Thursdays beginning Feb. 11.
The free 10-week series of classes gives students an in-depth look at the GPD and its work. An average of 17 students per class since the program began in 2009.
Members of the department lead sessions in their area of expertise or assignment.

March 10, Fingerprinting
March 17, Patrol procedures (09/17 to 10/21 must complete ride a long), traffic stops
March 24, No classes
March 31, Traffic, K9 demo, traffic stats
April 7, Vice (time permitting Alumni Association information)
April 14, Simulator training, Q and A session, officer training, use of force, taser demonstration. (less than lethal)
April 21, Graduation
