Millennial madness is forecast for Greer’s inaugural Food Truck Rollout Friday at City Park.
Food and beverage trucks will offer a variety of options and Dave Brothers will provide the entertainment. But Pokémon, a national phenomenon, is the lure.
Thomas Creek Brewery will have its beer trailer and food trucks – Thoroughfare, Robino’s Sweetly-Twisted Froyo, Ellada Kouzina – will offer a variety of food.
“The event is another attraction for the young professionals and young families that enjoy doing that kind of activity that attracts the 21-40 age group,” said City Administrator Ed Driggers.
“That age group is the fastest growing group with the highest disposable income,” said Driggers.
Ashlyn Stone, events coordinator for the City, said food trucks, a craft beer trailer, tailgating games and cornhole will be among the activities. “This is an adult event and offers people my age something else to do in Greer,” Stone said.
Pokémon, a social media and pop culture craze, is already drawing hoards of daily visitors to City Park, according to Steve Owens, communications director for the city.
The event is 5-8 p.m., valid ID is required to purchase alcohol and children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Outside alcohol and coolers are prohibited.
