Dorothy Howard, known as "Mama Dot" to her family and many friends and acquaintances, died Sunday.
Howard served in many supporting roles at the Greer Church of God including the sanctuary choir, Ladies Willing Workers, and Sunday School teacher for over 60 years.
Howard met her husband, Alton, a former Greer police officer, at the church in 1941. Alton died in 2005.
Howard was well known for making homemade cakes, her seamstress work and her flowers, especially African Violets. She was known as a devoted and dedicated Christian woman, a prayer warrior and faithfully visited the sick and shut-ins.
