The 35th annual Pelham Medical Center Greer Family Fest will continue from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday.
A full day of family-friendly events will be held downtown and ending with a free concert featuring contemporary country music band Parmalee at City Park at 8 p.m.
Kids will rule the day with the popular Anne Helton Creation Station at the Train Depot on Randall Street. Area churches will present free arts and crafts. A KidsZone featuring a variety of rides and inflatables will also be available.
Downtown restaurants will be open during regular hours Saturday and food and arts and crafts vendors will have their items on display for sale.
Parmalee, named for the band’s hometown, Parmele, N.C.,(population about 300) has brothers Matt (lead vocals) and Scott Thomas (drums), their cousin Barry Knox (bass) and friend Josh McSwain (lead guitar). The band is now based in Nashville, Tenn.
The band’s “Carolina” reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart. Other hits include “Be Alright”, “Close Your Eyes,” and “Already Callin’ You Mine”.
