Foothills Philharmonic opens season Sept. 17

The Foothills Philharmonic Orchestra opens its 2022-23 concert season atRiverside Baptist, Saturday, Sept., 17 at 7 p.m. with the Opening Night: Masterworks I Concert.

All Foothills’ concerts are free.  Refreshments are provided following the performance at a greet and meet the performers. Riverside Baptist is at 1249 S. Suber Road in Greer.

The program includes an annual art sale for local artists, beginning at 6 p.m.

Featured works include Alexander Borodin's Symphony No. 2 and Gounod's Ballet Music from Faust.

Performing in Greenville since 2000, Foothills Philharmonic is committed to providing high-quality, classical music performances to the Upstate community.

Kory Vrieze is the Orchestra’s Artistic Director and Conductor.

The orchestra is an all-volunteer orchestra made up of accomplished non-professional musicians from the Upstate. Orchestra membership includes individuals from part-time musicians, teachers, lawyers, business professionals, and homemakers. Membership in the Foothills Philharmonic is open to amateur and professional musicians.

Training in youth orchestra, college orchestra, or professional orchestra, in the Greenville Concert Band or an equivalent band is suggested as necessary experience. Contact personnel manager at [email protected].

Nov. 5, Mainstage Orchestra Series: Masterworks II, at Riverside Baptist Church, 7-10 p.m.
Nov. 19, Spotlight Chamber Series: Brass Quintet Concert at City of Greer Center for the Arts, 7-9 p.m.
Dec. 2, Ambassador Series: Greer Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, At Greer City Park, 5-8 p.m.
